Casandra "Cassie" Ventura may be satisfied with Sean "Diddy" Combs' prison sentence, but she asserts that nothing will ever take away the lifelong trauma she endured during their relationship.

Shortly after the judge handed down Combs' sentence on Friday, October 3, Cassie's attorney Doug Wigdor issued a statement about the artist-model's thoughts about the outcome.

"While nothing can undo the trauma caused by Combs, the sentence imposed today recognizes the impact of the serious offenses he committed," Wigdor said. "We are confident that with the support of her family and friends, Ms. Ventura will continue healing knowing that her bravery and fortitude have been an inspiration to so many."

Cassie was the first person to blow the whistle on Combs after she filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit in 2023. She listed a series of allegations, including sexual assault and other instances of domestic violence. Even though her lawsuit was quickly settled, it allowed other alleged victims to come forward with their stories of alleged abuse. The mounting lawsuits sparked an investigation from the Department of Homeland Security, who eventually filed charges against Combs.

The Bad Boy Records founder was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was found guilty of transporting his two girlfriends, Cassie and "Jane," to several locations to have sex with paid male escorts in drug-fueled parties known as "freak-offs." Both Ventura and "Jane" testified during the trial. The "Me & U" singer also wrote a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian and encouraged him to keep Combs locked up for as long as possible.

Following a six-week trial, Judge Subramanian sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison and a $500,000 fine. Combs will receive time served for the year he spent in jail, and could be released earlier for good behavior.
