Tekashi 6ix9ine's Sentencing Date Moved Up

Tekashi 6ix9ine's fate will be determined before the end of the year.

According to Complex, Judge Paul Engelmayer agreed to the controversial rapper's legal team's request to move up his sentencing date. Tekashi will now face a judge on December 18, 2019, at 10 a.m. ET instead of his original sentence date of January 24, 2020.

As previously reported, the 23-year-old rapper and his attorney Lance Lazzaro's request to have his sentencing expedited came with no push back from prosecutors, who chose not to oppose the "GUMMO" rapper's appeal given Tekashi's recent role as a government witness.

Tekashi, who is currently facing a 47-year prison sentence, took the stand in a Manhattan federal court last month and not only named names — he alleged that Jim Jones, Cardi B, Trippie Redd, and many more artists are all gang affiliated— he also revealed his role in Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods and previously unknown details about the gang's activity.

The "FEFE" rapper's testimony, at least in part, even led to two of his ex-fellow gang members receiving guilty verdicts. On Thursday (October 3), a New York City jury found Anthony "Harv" Ellison, who was accused of kidnapping and robbing 6ix9ine back in 2018, guilty of kidnapping in aid of racketeering. Harv was also found guilty of racketeering conspiracy and maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering. His alleged accomplice, Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack, was found guilty of racketeering conspiracy and narcotics trafficking.

So, Tekashi could be a free man before the end of the year.
