Watch the First Trailer For the Final Season of 'Game of Thrones'

winter has arrived

After eight seasons and nearly ten years on HBO, Winter has finally arrived in Westeros.

For the last year, fans of the HBO series have been on edge for the eighth and final season of 'Game of Thrones' as they await news on the fate of their favorite (and not-so-favorite) characters like Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).

On Tuesday, HBO helped slate fans' thirst for new GoT content with a new trailer that contained lots of previously unseen footage from the upcoming final season of the Emmy-award winning drama, which is set to debut April 14.

"They're coming," Jon Snow says in the trailer for the fantasy drama. "Our enemy doesn't tire. Doesn't stop. Doesn't feel."

The six-episode season has been described as "epic" with some episodes running up to 90 minutes. One episode is said to contain the longest battle sequence ever committed to film

"It's spectacle," HBO's Richard Plepler told Variety. "The reaction I had while watching them was, 'I'm watching a movie.' They (showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss) knew the bar was high. They've exceeded the bar. I've watched them twice without any CGI and I'm in awe. Everybody's in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production."
